ABOUT APRIL

I am first and foremost a daughter of the King,  saved by God’s amazing and undeserved grace, and blessed beyond what I deserve. I am also a 34 35 year Idaho girl living in the suburbs of Charleston, SC with my amazing husband and 4 kiddos (14,12,9, &8). I homeschool my  kids and work as a freelance designer some of the time. Expressing myself creatively through my hands is just how I process the world. I started this site to share many of my ideas with others through the use of tutorials. My hope is that these will inspire you and show you that it’s absolutely possible to see something or have an idea fly into your head, create it yourself and then shout out “I made that!”. It’s a very pioneer woman feeling!

I’ve been an artist since I was very young. I have dabbled in gardening, cooking, painting, sculpting, wood-works, sketching,  crocheting, interior design…you name it, I’ve probably tried it. However my real love is sewing. I have been sewing since I was 13, my first project being a genie costume! My mom was always sewing and making something beautiful out of nothing. I always think of her when I sew. I think of her spirit and her can-do-it attitude and I smile. I also have a slight fabric fetish. One of my favorite things to do is to just walk through a fabric store touching all the different textures, seeing all the varied colors. It just makes me happy and it also gives me a little high. Of course that could be the all the cinnamon candles and synthetic fabric dye chemicals. Either way I like it:)
